BOTH NEW RELEASES’ OPENING DULL; BOTH RELEASES OF LAST WEEK DAMP SQUIBS

Both, EMERGENCY and AZAAD, opened to extremely poor houses yesterday (17th January) in spite of the admission rates being low due to celebration of Cinema Lovers’ Day.

Fateh could not find appreciation in the first week and hence recorded dull collections. It netted only Rs. 12.50 crore in the first week.

Match Fixing fared miserably in the first week all over.

Game Changer (dubbed) could not do well in 1st week. It collected only Rs. 6.74 crore on the first day. Collections fell on the second day which, therefore, closed at Rs. 6.22 crore. The total for Sunday was an unimpressive Rs. 6.98 crore. Hence the first weekend closed at Rs. 19.94 crore. Collections on the weekdays fell by around 70%. It netted Rs. 2.26 crore on Monday, Rs. 2 crore on Tuesday, Rs. 1.03 crore on Wednesday, and Rs. 0.71 crore on Thursday. In this way, the total for the weekdays was Rs. 6 crore. Hence the first week closed at Rs. 25.94 crore only.

Love Is Forever turned out to be a debacle in the first week all over.

Marco (dubbed) did average business in the fourth week. It collected only Rs. 1.85 crore in 4th week, taking its grand total for 4 weeks to Rs. 11.42 crore.

Mufasa: The Lion King (animation; dubbed and the original English versions) recorded fair collections in 4th week. It netted Rs. 4.10 crore in the fourth weekend, and another Rs. 2.35 crore during the weekdays. In this way, the total for the fourth week was Rs. 6.45 crore. Grand total for 4 weeks: Rs. 124.20 crore.

Pushpa: The Rule Part 2 (Hindi dubbed) managed to yield shares in 6th week too in spite of a noticeable drop. It collected Rs. 7 crore in its sixth week, taking its grand total for 6 weeks to Rs. 757 crore.

Sangeet Manapmaan (Marathi) did well in the first week in Maharashtra.
