Jaat consolidated its position in single-screen cinemas after an ordinary start but collections in the national multiplex chains dropped quite markedly after the average long weekend. Following a net collection total of Rs. 8.95 crore on Thursday (April 10), the action film dropped to Rs. 6.70 crore on Friday. Collections picked up on Saturday and jumped on Sunday, which closed at Rs. 9.45 crore and Rs. 13.96 crore respectively.The total for Monday (partial holiday due to Ambedkar Jayanti) was Rs. 7.22 crore. In this way, the total for the first 5-day extended weekend was Rs. 46.28 crore. Collections for the balance days of the first week were: Tuesday – Rs. 5.61 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 3.74 crore, Thursday – Rs. 4.05 crore. Hence the 3-day total was Rs. 13.40 crore. In this way, the first week’s total (8 days) was Rs. 59.68 crore.
Akaal (dubbed) fared very poorly in the first week. The original Punjabi version was also below the mark.
A Minecraft Movie (dubbed and the original English versions) dropped around 45% in the second week. It netted about Rs. 3.80 crore in 2nd week. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 10.90 crore.
