Malayalam film actor Unni Dev was on 25th May sent to judicial custody for 14 days for abetment to his wife’s suicide.
Unni Dev, son of late actor Rajan P. Dev, was arrested on 25th after his wife, Priyanka, ended her life on 12th May by hanging herself at her home. Unni had acted in films like Aadu Oru Bheekara Jeeviyanu and Aadu 2.
According to the police, Unni Dev has confessed to causing duress to his wife. The two had gotten married in 2019. A case of dowry harassment has reportedly been registered against Unni as well as his mother who is currently recovering from COVID-19. Unni Dev had also contracted COVID-19.
