‘MANIHAR’ REVIEW | 14 June, 2024

Jai Shree Movie Production and M.S. Studios’ Manihar (UA) is the story of a bangle seller from a small town of Uttar Pradesh.

Sanjeev Kumar Rajput has written a simplistic story of a bangle seller, which would hardly appeal to anybody. His screenplay is routine and devoid of entertaining drama. Even his dialogues are below the mark.

Badrul Islam îs unimpressive aș Ballu. Roshni Rastogi is so-so as Savitri. Pankaj Berry lends decent support in the role of Savitri’s father. Ramesh Goyal is average as Ballu’s father. Sunny Thakur is passable as Balwant pahelwan. Anshu Tiwari, Ahsaan Qureshi, Krishna Bhatt and Utkarsh Maharshi barely pass muster.

Sanjeev Kumar Rajput’s direction is dull. Asif Chandwani’s music and background music are nothing to shout about. Lyrics are ordinary. Santosh Pal and Dilip Pal’s cinematography is okay. Bhautik Nanda’s editing is loose.

On the whole, Manihar is a poor fare.

Released on 14-6-’24 at PVR Icon Andheri (daily 1 show) of Bombay thru First Film Studios LLP. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was pathetic everywhere.
