Manoj Bajpayee has filed a private criminal defamation complaint in a court in Indore against self-styled gossip journalist Kamaal R. Khan (KRK). The small-time actor, who prefers to call himself a journalist, on 26th July tweeted that Manoj’s wife was having an extra-marital affair. He also accused Bajpayee of being addicted to cannabis. Although the tweets have since been deleted, there is still one tweet on Twitter, in which KRK has referred to Manoj Bajpayee as charsi/ganjedi (stoner).
The complaint against KRK is for offences under sections 499 and 500 of the IPC. Bajpayee’s statement was recorded by the court after the complaint was filed. The matter has been fixed for evidence for other witnesses. The next hearing will be held on September 4.
It may be mentioned here that Salman had in May this year filed a defamation case against KRK.
