Marathi film actor Akshay Waghmare got married to underworld don Arun Gawli’s daughter, Yogita, at the don’s residence in Bombay today (8th May). The wedding was originally scheduled for 29th March but had to be postponed due to the lockdown. The actor and his family got permission from Pune police on 6th May to travel to Bombay for the marriage. The haldi ceremony was held on 7th evening.
The marriage had to be solemnised despite the coronavirus lockdown as Arun Gawli, who is out on parole, might be required to surrender to the jail authorities in Nagpur soon. He has applied for an extension of parole but the hearing is still to be held in the Bombay high court. Gawli is serving a life term in the murder case of Shiv Sena corporator Kamlakar Jamsandekar.
