Anadya Film Production and Yashika Motion Pictures’ Match Of Life (UA) is the story of a cricketer who resembles a celebrity cricketer.
Viraj (Amit Mishra) is a cricketer. As far as his looks go, he resembles celebrated cricketer Virat Kohli. The drama is about his life.
Vishal Mehta’s story and screenplay are based on such a weak foundation that it is difficult to sustain the viewers’ interest beyond a point. Frankly, nothing in the drama makes much sense to the audience. Vishal Mehta’s dialogues are routine.
Amit Mishra does an ordinary job as Viraj. Stefy Patel fails to impress as Shanaya. Rajpal Yadav is hardly funny in the role of Gutli. Anil Dhawan is earnest as Viraj’s father. Sudha Chandran lends decent support as Viraj’s mother. Vrajesh Hirjee makes his presence felt. Supriya Karnik is okay. Akhilendra Mishra has his moments. Zakir Hussain leaves a mark. Hemant Pandey is so-so. Arun Bali, Pankaj Berry and Rajkumar Kanojia provide routine support.
Aman Sagar’s direction is dull. Music (Shweta Behati Tayal and Ravi Chopra) is functional. Shweta Behati Tayal’s lyrics are dull. Sanjay Yadav’s choreography hardly deserves mention. Camerawork is ordinary. Dinesh Yadav’s action and stunt scenes lack thrill. Editing is loose.
On the whole, Match Of Life is a poor fare.
Released on 5-8-’22 at Gem (daily 1 show) and another cinema of Bombay thru Screenshot Media & Entertainment Group. Publicity & opening: dull. …….Also released all over. Opening was poor everywhere.
