Released last week in Orissa (at Bhubaneswar), Mahakala Production’s Maya Darpan Ek Tyag is the story of a woman who is considered unlucky by one and all.
Ranjan Kumar Das’ story is extremely weak. The same holds true for Rajeeb Mohanty’s screenplay. The drama is so terribly silly that it becomes difficult to sit through it. Dialogues (by Ranjan Kumar Das) are poor.
Kuna Tripathi does a dull job. Pravita Panda fails to impress. Others don’t even pass muster.
Rajeeb Mohanty’s direction is pathetic. Bikash Shukla’s music is barely functional. Ajit Das’ camerawork is dull. Pintu Nayak’s editing is loose.
On the whole, Maya Darpan Ek Tyag is a poor fare.
