MIKA SINGH MOVES HC TO QUASH MOLESTATION CASE | 11 April, 2023

Singer Mika Singh has moved the Bombay high court to quash a nearly 17-year-old case against him for allegedly kissing an actress at his birthday party in June 2006. A bench led by Justice Ajay Gadkari recently heard Mika’s petition to quash, with her consent, the FIR and a February 2015 chargesheet. The petition said, all differences had been amicably and conclusively resolved, and the parties wished to bring the entire dispute to a quietus.

Mika Singh’s advocate informed that charges were not framed. Posting the hearing on April 17, the bench asked the actress’ advocate to file a fresh consent affidavit.

The Oshiwara (Bombay) police booked Mika Singh on June 11, 2006, for molestation. The actress’ complaint said that on June 10, 2006, she attended Singh’s birthday party. Around 1 a.m. on June 11, Singh invited her to cut the cake with him. He pulled her and kissed her twice when she came forward. Mika was arrested and released on bail.
