‘MOTI SETHANI’ REVIEW | 28 February, 2025

Rasada Enterprises Pvt. Ltd.’s Moti Sethani (UA) is a devotional film which brings to life the inspiring journey of Narayani, who is the reincarnation of Uttara, the wife of Abhimanyu from epic Mahabharata. She is revered as Rani Sati Devi, a symbol of unwavering devotion, strength and sacrifice, and is extremely popular in Rajasthan.

The film traces Narayani’s journey and her path of righteousness. It talks of her sacrifices, and the divine interventions that mark her journey.

Raman Dwivedi has written a story based on mythology. His screenplay has moments which touch the heart but they aren’t all of the same kind. In other words, there are points when the emotional impact is found lacking. Raman Dwivedi’s dialogues are below the mark.

Ananya Bubna does a fair job as Narayani. Linisha Gupta is okay as little Narayani. Mohit Sharma is alright as Tandhandasji. Diwakar Pathak is fair as Ranaji. Rana Sanjay Tulsyan lends average support as Ghursamal Goyal. Shaneel Sharma (as Jaliram Bansal), Aparna Agarwal (as Sharda Bansal), Ramkaran Choudhary (as Kaaniya), Amarit Raj (as Nawab), Sudhanshu Sharma (as Chand Khan), Manisha Saini (as Dayan), Shakti Agarwal (as Joshiji) and Namita Singhania (as Budhiya) pass muster. Others fit the bill.

Rana Sanjay Tulsyan’s direction is ordinary. Satish Dehra’s music is okay. Lyrics are routine. Ravindra Kharat’s background music should’ve been more impactful. Camerawork (by Narendra Joshi) is okay. Prashant Naik’s action and stunt scenes are functional. Dinesh Mengade’s editing is loose.

On the whole, Moti Sethani is a dull fare but has some chance in Rajasthan only.

Released on 28-2-’25 at Maxus Bhayandar (daily 1 show) of Bombay thru UFO Cine Media Network. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was weak everywhere.
