‘PARASTREE’ REVIEW | 30 June, 2023

D.S. Digital and Nendi Creation’s Parastree (A) is an Indo-Nepalese co-production venture about a love affair gone horrendously wrong.

Dipendra K. Khanal has penned an unimaginative script which fails to entertain even one bit. The story and screenplay are extremely dull. Dialogues are no better.

Koshish Chhetri’s acting is so-so. Shilpa Maskey is alright. Gaurav Bista is barely functional. Geet Bista is ordinary. Alisha Chhetri is not up to the mark. Aashant Sharma is unimpressive. Rambabu Regmi, Saraswati Adhikari and Arpit Neupane lend dull support.

Suraj Pandey’s direction is poor. K.K. Brothers’ music is weak. Kabid Bazra and Kriti Nepali’s background score is below the mark. Krishna Bahadur Thapa and Niraj Kandel’s camerawork is dull. Shankar Pandey’s production designing and Hem Man Gurung’s art direction are ordinary. Dirgha Khadka’s editing leaves a lot to be desired.

On the whole, Parastree is a flop show.
