Yash Raj Films’ Pathaan has been issued a ‘UA’ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification. The censor certificate (no. DIL/2/1/2023) is dated 2nd January, 2023. The running time of the Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham starrer is 146.16 minutes. The first half has a running time of 1 hour, 10 minutes, 1 second. The running time of the post-interval portion is 1 hour, 16 minutes, 15 seconds. The trailer of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar (running time: 3 minutes, 26 seconds) is attached with Pathaan.
There are a few cuts/insertions/modifications carried out by the producers themselves.
In the Besharam rang song, which had come in the eye of a controversy relating to the saffron colour of Deepika Padukone’s swimming costume, close-up shots of Deepika’s buttocks have been replaced. During the lyrics Bahut tang kiya, the visuals of sensuous dance movements have been suitably curtailed. Side pose of Deepika (classified as partial nudity) has been excised.
Besides the above, the following alterations have also been made:
- The name ‘RAW’ has been replaced by ‘Hamare’ in the introductory dialogue mentioning Colonel Luthra. The same replacement has been made in reference to the mention of ‘recreational club, gym, sauna, pool tables, etc.
- The words Langde loole have been replaced by Toote foote.
- ‘PMO’ super reference has been removed. ‘PM’ has been replaced by ‘President and minister’ a total of 13 times.
- At two places, reference to Ashoka Chakra has been replaced by Veer Puraskar.
- The character of Jim is shown as a RAW agent and is modified as suggested.
- The name of ex-KGB is substituted by ex-SBU.
- The words ‘Mrs. Bharatmata’ have been replaced by Hamari Bharatmata. Similarly, Samvidhan has been replaced by Vagairah.
- In the dialogue, Iss se sasti Scotch nahi mili, the word ‘Scotch’ has been replaced by ‘drink’.
- In the supers, the words ‘Black Prison Russia’ have been replaced by ‘Black Prison’.
The film is slated for release on 25th January.
