Ahead of late showman Raj Kapoor’s birth centenary on 14th December, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the entire Kapoor family in Delhi today (11th December). Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Neetu Singh and other members of the Kapoor clan thanked the Prime Minister for honouring the contribution of Raj Kapoor by throwing open the doors of his house to the Kapoor family.
Modi praised the films made by the late actor-filmmaker and recalled several incidents wherein Raj Kapoor’s films had made India proud on the international platform. He said, Raj Kapoor was a cultural ambassador of India much before the term ‘soft power’ was understood. Alia Bhatt asked the Prime Minister a pertinent question: “Do you get time to listen to film songs?” With a smile, Modi replied, “I try to listen to songs whenever I get an opportunity.”
