A police complaint has been filed against the producers and director of 72 Hoorain, accusing them of maligning the image of the Muslim community. One Saiyad Arifali Mohammedali lodged a complaint at the Goregaon (Bombay) police station, naming producer-director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan and other producers. The complaint alleges that the film insults and disrespects his religion while promoting communal disharmony, discrimination, hatred, and damaging the image of the Muslim community among the public.
The film has been in the eye of a controversy ever since its trailer was released. The film itself is due to hit the screens on July 7.
