POLICE GET TIME TO PROBE COMPLAINT AGAINST KANGANA RANAUT | 6 December, 2020

The Andheri magistrate court in Bombay on 5th December granted the Amboli police’s request for more time to complete an inquiry into a complaint submitted by a lawyer alleging that Kangana Ranaut and her sister, Rangoli Chandel, posted statements on Twitter, that were defamatory and hateful against the Muslim community. The police told the court that summons had been issued to the sisters. The matter will be heard on January 5, 2021. The court had directed the Amboli police in October to conduct an inquiry.

The complainant, advocate Ali Kaashif Deshmukh, said that Rangoli allegedly posted a defamatory statement against a community on Twitter on April 15, and that subsequently, her account was suspended. Deshmukh said that Kangana supported her sister.
