The Punjab government gave the film industry a gift on the eve of Dassera. Its department of home affairs and justice revised the COVID-19 restrictions on 14th October to permit cinemas and multiplexes in the state to operate at two-thirds of their capacity instead of 50%. This is subject to all staff of cinemas being either fully vaccinated or having taken at least one dose of the vaccine over four weeks back. This directive will be effective till 31st October when new guidelines are expected.
