A total of 4,46,890 people saw Gangubai Kathiawadi in its 2nd week at PVR cinemas. For the week from March 4 to 10, this was the highest number of footfalls for films running at the leading multiplex chain of the country — more than even The Batman (all languages combined). Point to be noted is that in the period under reference, Gangubai was in its second week while The Batman was in its first week. At an average ticket price of Rs. 259, Gangubai netted Rs. 9,75,65,511 (Rs. 9.76 crore) in 6,524 sessions.
The Batman was at number 2 as far as footfalls were concerned, with 4,28,787 persons viewing it in its first week. Its average ticket price was Rs. 311 (Rs. 52 more than that of Gangubai). That is why and also because there were 207 more sessions of the Hollywood film, The Batman (in 1st week) netted more than Gangubai (in 2nd week) in PVR properties. Its collection figure was Rs. 11,10,21,181 (Rs. 11.10 crore) from a total of 6,731 sessions.
On the other hand, only 1,11,885 people saw Jhund in the first week in PVR cinemas. Its sessions were also less than half of Gangubai (2nd week) or The Batman (1st week), and among the three films, its average ticket price was the lowest at Rs. 220. The Amitabh Bachchan starrer, which had no other star names in its roster, netted only Rs. 2,07,39,006 (Rs. 2.07 crore) from 3,056 sessions.
Of the regional language films, Pawankhind (Marathi) in its 3rd week, and Valimai (Tamil) in second week had sizeable footfalls — 86,727 and 85,162 respectively. Pawankhind had 867 sessions and netted Rs. 1,36,36,525 (Rs. 1.36 crore) in the third week whereas Valimai netted Rs. 1,29,32,702 (Rs. 1.29 crore) in its 2nd week from 737 sessions. The only other regional language film with nett collection figure of over Rs. 1 crore was Aadavaallu Meeku Joharlu (Telugu). It netted Rs. 1.04 crore from 907 sessions in its first week. The total number of admits was 907. Gujarati film Dear Father had 11,260 footfalls in 281 sessions in 1st week. Its net collection total from PVR properties was Rs. 15.61 lakh.
