RAZA MURAD SERVES SHARAT SAXENA CRIMINAL LEGAL NOTICE | 29 July, 2021

There’s a war brewing between character actors Raza Murad and Sharat Saxena. Raza Murad has, in fact, served Sharat Saxena a legal notice for allegedly defaming him (Raza Murad).

Sharat Saxena has allegedly given interviews to newspapers and has mentioned on social media that Raza Murad had, years ago, spread rumours that Sharat Saxena had settled in Madras. Saxena has specifically named Ghulam for which, according to him, the producers did not contact him because of Raza’s statement.

Raza Murad’s lawyers have stated that the allegation is completely false and mischievous as Raza Murad had never spread any such rumour. The legal notice also states that Sharat Saxena did play a role in Aamir Khan’s Ghulam so what was he complaining about, that too, after so many years. Sharat Saxena has alleged in his interview that after Raza Murad’s rumour, the film industry had treated him (Sharat) like a punching bag.

The legal notice calls upon Sharat Saxena to cease and desist from making such or similar statements about Raza Murad and to immediately withdraw the defamatory/derogatory statements. It also calls upon Sharat to tender a clarification to Raza Murad in writing and in print and digital media.

Stating that Sharat had committed offences under sections 499, 500 and 501 of the Indian Penal Code, Raza Murad’s notice adds that the loss for defaming him was to the tune of Rs. 10 crore. He has asked the police to lodge an FIR in the matter.
