RHEA CHAKRABORTY’S BROTHER GETS BAIL IN DRUGS CASE | 2 December, 2020

The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) court today (2nd December) granted Rhea Chakraborty’s brother, Showik Chakraborty, bail after almost three months of being in Taloja prison. He was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on September 5 in the drugs case connected with the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. He was jailed for procuring drugs for Sushant on several occasions. Rhea had also been arrested in the case but she was granted bail much before Showik.

Special judge G.B. Gurao granted Showik bail on a personal bond of Rs. 50,000. Imposing conditions, the court asked him to deposit his passport with the NCB. Showik will have to seek prior permission from court for travelling abroad. For travelling out of Bombay, he will have to inform the investigating officer and provide his itinerary in advance. For the next six months, Showik will have to attend the NCB’s office on the first Monday of every month for an hour.
