RHEA MOVES SC TO TRANSFER PATNA CASE TO BOMBAY | 1 August, 2020

Rhea Chakraborty, against whom boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput’s father has registered an FIR in Patna, for allegedly illegally confining him before his suicide and cheating him of money, has approached the Supreme Court to transfer the Patna case to Bombay as the Bombay police is already probing his suicide. Sushant’s father, K.K. Singh, has claimed that he had filed a complaint at the Bandra police station in Bombay on 25th February that he apprehended a threat to his son. However, the Bandra police station has denied that the father or the family had filed any such complaint. The star’s father has accused Rhea of abetment to suicide. Sushant had ended his life on 14th June.

Rhea’s application to the apex court says that since there is already an ongoing probe into the accidental death report registered by the Bombay police following Sushant’s death, the case in Patna be transferred to Bombay. Her lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, said that the law is clear that there cannot be two investigations into the same set of facts and allegations. The plea states that the Bombay police have already recorded statements of over 50 persons in the case.
