‘ROOHI’ SONGS GROWING IN POPULARITY | 2 March, 2021

The Panghat song from Jio Studios and Maddock Films’ Roohi is becoming a rage. Sony, which holds the music rights of the horror comedy, is dancing with joy at the response which the song has garnered from the public. Barely had the Panghat song started climbing the popularity charts than came along the already-superhit number, Ooh aah, let the music play. Yes, Shamur’s chartbuster is now a part of Roohi.

As if the racy beats of the Let the music play song were not enough, Janhvi Kapoor’s dance on them is another bonus. The song was picturised only recently and is an item number in the film. The actress has danced wonderfully and distinction marks to the girl for her difficult steps done so gracefully under the guidance of young choreographers Piyush-Shazia. Incidentally, Shazia is the daughter of writer-director Sajid Samji. Both the aforementioned songs should definitely help the film open to impressive houses on 11th March (Thursday, Maha Shivratri).

While on Roohi, the journey of the film’s title is pretty interesting. The Rajkumar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Sharma starrer, directed by Hardik Mehta, was initially titled Rooh Afza. However, when the makers of the popular Rooh Afza drink objected to the title, there was talk about changing the title to Roohi Afza. Then came Roohi Afzana. Finally, it is Roohi.
