Noted writer Sagar Sarhadi passed away last night (21st March) at his residence in Bombay around 12.40 a.m. He was 87 years old and had had a fall a few days earlier because of which he was bed-ridden. He is being cremated at the Sion crematorium now.
Ganga Sagar Talwar wrote under the pen name of Sagar Sarhadi, which then became the name he was known by in the film industry. Among the films written/co-written by Sagar Sarhadi were Kabhi Kabhie, Sawaal, Silsila, Karmayogi, Zindagi, Inkaar, Noorie, Faasle, Anubhav, Deewana and Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai. He had also penned the dialogues for films like Rang and Chandni. He had directed Bazaar, Tere Shaher Mein and Agla Mausam and had produced and directed Chausar. He was also associated with theatre and wrote many stage plays. He was filmmaker Ramesh Talwar’s paternal uncle.
