Salman Khan’s family plans to build a 19-storey hotel on a prime plot at Carter Road, Bandra in Bombay. The plot of land once housed a cooperative housing society in which the Khans had purchased some flats. Their initial plan was to reportedly redevelop the property into a residential building but more than a year back, the family submitted a proposal in the name of Salman’s mother, Salma Khan, to build a hotel. A revised amended plan under Bombay city’s new Development Control & Promotion Regulation (DCPR-2034) was submitted later for a “commercial centrally air-conditioned building with a height of 69.90 metres”.
The plan includes three-level basements, the first and second floors for a cafe and restaurant, the third floor for a gymnasium and swimming pool, the fourth floor as a service floor, the fifth and sixth floors for a convention centre, and the seventh to 19th floors for the hotel.
