Madhura Jasraj (86), wife of late Pandit Jasraj, mother of music director Shaarang Dev and actress-producer Durga Jasraj, and sister of producer Kiran Shantaram, passed away early this morning (25th September) at her home in Bombay following age-related illnesses. The last rites were performed at the Oshiwara crematorium this evening.
Madhura was the daughter of late celebrated filmmaker V. Shantaram and she had also written a book on him, titled V. Shantaram: The Man Who Changed Indian Cinema. She directed Marathi film Aai Tujha Aashirwad in 2010, which won her a place in the Limca Book of Records for being the oldest debutante at 72.
