Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray at a recent meeting with the Film and TV Producers’ Guild of India Ltd. permitted film shootings beyond the earlier 4 p.m. deadline. The Guild had demanded extension of the shooting hours beyond the deadline as night scenes were becoming difficult to shoot in the day, and co-ordination of cast and crew members within the limited number of hours was also becoming a very difficult exercise. Besides, the Guild explained to the CM that crowds during the nights were far less than during the day and, therefore, the fear of spread of the Coronavirus was lower in the nights.
The chief minister said, the number of infected persons in the state had not come down drastically and hence he had to see the larger picture. All the same, he asked the Guild to ensure that the cast and crew members were innoculated. He also said that the local police stations could coordinate with the film units desirous of shooting beyond 4 p.m.
