Actress Raveena Tandon has sent a man a defamation notice for failing to pull down from social media a video in which he accused her driver of road rage, stating that a police probe had found his allegation to be fake. In the clip, the man had claimed that Raveena’s car hit his mother outside her home at Bandra in Bombay on June 1 and on being confronted, the driver assaulted her. The police probe found that the car did not hit anyone.
The notice said that the man asked the actress to send a request seeking removal of the video from his X account, which was sent via email on June 5. However, the man did not delete the post. What’s more, he threatened Raveena of initiating legal action if the said request letter was not withdrawn within 24 hours.
In the legal notice, the actress said, the man had defamed her on social media and news portals via the video “which is admittedly fake news” and derogatory.
