The Maharashtra government recently reconstituted about a dozen state-level awards committees for art, film, culture, singing and theatre. The new committees are all headed by cultural affairs minister Sudhir Munganthiwar of the BJP.
The state’s cultural affairs department appointed Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri as an expert (non-government) member on the Raj Kapoor Lifetime and Special Contribution Award committee along with Subhash Ghai, Madhur Bhandarkar, Mohan Joshi and Ved Rahi. Sumeet Raghavan was appointed as an expert member of films on the state cultural awards committee.
