STATEMENTS RECORDED BY BOMBAY POLICE NOT LEGAL: UNION GOVT. TO SC | 15 August, 2020

The Union government told the Supreme Court on 13th August that statements of the 56 people recorded by the Bombay police in the alleged suicide case of Sushant Singh Rajput were legally unsustainable because of a technical point. The Centre told the court that since the state police had not registered an FIR, they were not empowered to legally investigate the crime.
