Comedian and actor Sunil Pal has been booked for allegedly posting a video on social media a fortnight back, claiming that 90% of doctors, dressed in demon suits, scared COVID patients from morning till evening so that the patient died of fear by the end of the day. He also alleged that some doctors were involved in a scam of human organs. He added in the video that many doctors were looting poor patients.
The Andheri (Bombay) police registered an FIR against Pal on 4th May based on a complaint by Dr. Sushmita Bhatnagar, president of Association of Medical Consultants (Bombay), after watching the video first noticed by chairman Dr. Sudhir Naik on April 20. Pal was booked under Indian Penal Code sections 500 (defamation) and 506(2) (public mischief). No arrest was made.
Pal later uploaded another video in which he apologised to those who had felt hurt by his first video.
