Shreeram Production and Victorious Enterprises’ Tauba Tera Jalwa (UA) is the story of a real estate tycoon and the problems he faces in his personal life.
Romy Tyagi (Jatin Khurana) is a real estate tycoon who is scared of nobody. He is married to the beautiful Rinku (Angela Krislinzki). One day, Prof. Syed (Rajesh Sharma) enters Romy’s life and wins his confidence. He then plants Laila (Ameesha Patel) in Romy’s house, introducing her as his wife from London. But Laila gets Romy arrested on the charge of rape. Rinku comes to Romy’s rescue or so it seems. But some things come to Romy’s knowledge and he is shocked. Are Prof. Syed, Laila and Rinku hand-in-glove? Or is Rinku actually helping Romy?
Akashaditya Lama has written a story and screenplay, which are so contrived and kiddish that it’s a wonder, the drama could be the base of a film. Nothing — repeat, nothing — engages the viewers who, therefore, watch the drama unfold, without becoming a part of it. Nothing whatsoever excites the audience because everything looks so orchestrated and so weird. Prof. Syed’s intentions appear silly, to say the least. And his modus operandi appears weird. Even Lama’s dialogues don’t add anything to the drama because they are so lame.
Jatin Khurana is okay as Romy Tyagi. Ameesha Patel is average as Laila. Angela Krislinzki looks good but performs routinely in the role of Rinku. Rajesh Sharma is alright as Prof. Syed. Neeraj Sood does a fair job as police inspector Sajjan Singh. Jahangir Khan is ordinary as Bhura. Ehsan Khan (as SP Rajesh Rathore) passes muster. Anil Rastogi is alright as jailer Bharat Singh. Others provide dull support.
Akashaditya Lama’s direction is weak. Vikram Montrose’s music is dull. Lyrics are nothing to dance about. Jayesh Pradhan’s choreography is functional. Amar Mohile’s background music does not have the spark. Shakil Khan’s cinematography is quite nice. Harish Umar Khan’s art direction is okay. Sanjay Sankla’s editing leaves something to be desired.
On the whole, Tauba Tera Jalwa will meet with a disastrous fate at the box-office.
