Ashwamedh Motion Pictures Ltd.’s Tendlya (Marathi) is the story of two diehard fans of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. While one fan is a 10-year-old boy who dreams of playing like the legend, the other is a 22-year-old who struggles to follow the values set by his idol.
Sachin J. Jadhav has written a story which is ordinary. Instead of one fan of a hero (Tendulkar in this case), this story deals with two fans. The screenplay, penned by Sachin J. Jadhav and Nachiket Waikar, is good only in parts. Overall, it does not have much to sustain the audience’s interest. Sachin J. Jadhav’s dialogues are ordinary.
Firoj Shaikh does an average job. Adwaita Jadhav is so-so. Mahendra Walunj is ordinary. Vikram Patil lends routine support. Sambhaji Tangade and Aman Kamble deliver routine performances.
Sachin J. Jadhav and Nachiket Waikar’s direction is dull. Music (Nilesh Nirmala and Sarang Kulkarni) is ordinary. Lyrics are functional. Sarang Kulkarni and Bhanu Dhande’s background music is below the mark. Balu Sandilyasa’s camerawork is average. Prashant Bidkar’s production designing and Subhash Jadhav’s art direction are not up to the mark. Nachiket Waikar’s editing is loose.
On the whole, Tendlya is a flop show.
Released on 5-5-’23 at Gem (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru August Entertainment. Publicity & opening: poor.
