‘THE FIGHTER SUMAN’ (DUBBED) REVIEW | 14 July, 2023

Dimension Pictures and MMR Movie Creations’ The Fighter Suman (dubbed from Kannada film Suman; UA) is a love-and-revenge story. Suman (Dharma Keerthiraj), son of a wealthy businessman, falls in love with Pooja. One day, Pooja is mysteriously killed. Devastated, Suman leaves his family and moves to a new place. There, he meets another girl named Pooja. As they grow closer to each other, Suman discovers the truth about Pooja’s murder. He now swears revenge. Such is his resolve that there’s no stopping him.

Ravi Sagar has penned a story and screenplay, which don’t boast of novelty. Since one has seen revenge dramas like this in the past too, the excitement of watching this drama unfold is minimal. Even otherwise, the script is quite weak. Dialogues barely pass muster.

Dharma Keerthiraj does quite well as Suman. Rajani Bharadwaj is okay as Pooja. Nimika Ratnakar performs reasonably well as Pooja. Zayleen Ganapathy is alright as Sonu. Others pass muster.

Ravi Sagar’s direction is so-so. He has concentrated on action and violence mainly. Zubin Poul’s music and background music are ordinary. Lyrics are functional. Sri Murthy’s cinematography is nice. Vinod’s action and stunt scenes lend thrill to the front-benchers. Kranthi’s editing could’ve been sharper. Dubbing is okay.

On the whole, The Fighter Suman is a dull fare.
