The Andheri (Bombay) police arrested two men for threatening and restraining Marathi film actress Manasi Naik and her friend at a supermarket on 19th August. Manasi was in a queue at the supermarket when vegetable vendor Mehraj Nisar Azmi came and stood behind her. He was neither wearing a mask nor maintaining social distancing. When Manasi rebuked him for the same, the vegetable vendor called his friend, Surya Dubey. Both the men threatened Manasi and tried to stop her as also her friend from leaving the supermarket. Upon this, Manasi telephoned the police who reached the spot and arrested the duo.
