Actress Richa Chadda succeeded in getting an unconditional apology from starlet Payal Ghosh for speaking filth about the former. Consent terms whereby Payal apologised to Richa were signed yesterday (13th October). Payal had told the Bombay high court in a defamation suit filed against her by Richa, that she would issue an apology to her for having publicised the story that filmmaker Anurag Kashyap had named Richa, Huma Qureshi and Mahie Gill as having been okay with giving him sexual favours. She said this in the context of filing a sexual assault complaint recently against Kashyap. Richa lost no time in dragging Payal to court.

Even after agreeing in court, to apologise to Richa, Payal went back on her commitment and actually said that she would not apologise as she had wronged nobody. But ultimately, Payal had to issue an unconditional apology to Richa yesterday. She also withdrew all statements, defamatory posts including videos and agreed not to state, make, publish, republish any defamatory, insulting, humiliating statements against Richa Chadda relating to the subject matter of the suit and/or any issue, dispute, complaint, suit, action, controversy, nefarious activity and/or criminal activity between Payal Ghosh and any person/party.
But ultimately, Payal had to issue an unconditional apology to Richa yesterday.
The news channel concerned has agreed to withdraw its videos from all its platforms and has agreed not to republish them along with agreeing for an injunction against them. A John Doe/Ashok Kumar order has also been granted to withdraw with immediate effect from their respective publications all defamatory statements, videos, tweets and/or defamatory statements of Payal Ghosh and the news channel.
