Versatile and veteran Telugu film actor Chandra Mohan passed away due to ill-health on 11th November. He collapsed at home in the morning and was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead. Hospital sources said, he died of a cardiac arrest. He had been suffering from heart and kidney ailments. He was 80.
Chandra Mohan had a phenomenal career spanning five decades. He had acted in more than 900 films. He was known as the Rishi Kapoor of Telugu films. He played the hero as well as character roles with equal elan. He was so popular as the lead man in the 1970s and 1980s that young actresses, who wanted to make it big in the industry, aspired to act with him. Sridevi, Jaya Prada and Jayasudha owe part of their successes to Chandra Mohan.
He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
