Well-known Gujarati film writer-director Vipul Mehta’s wife threw a surprise party yesterday (July 8) at Mauj Masti Cafe & Lounge, Versova, Bombay to celebrate his 50th birthday. Vipul has written and directed many films including the highest-grossing Gujarati film, Chaal Jeevi Laiye!.
Besides being a fantastic writer and filmmaker, Vipul is also a super-graceful dancer. It was evident at his party that he was easily the best dancer, better than all his friends and family members who took to the floor with the birthday boy, and danced to their hearts’ content. Looking to his fabulous dancing, it wouldn’t be a bad idea if Vipul started making a cameo appearance in a song-dance in every film he directs — like Subhash Ghai does in films made by him. The only hitch is that his stars might get a complex! Another point that came to the fore at the birthday party was that popular Gujarati film actor Dharmesh Vyas is also a wonderful singer.
The party was very well-attended.
