Priyanka Alva Oberoi, wife of Vivek Oberoi and sister of Aditya Alva, one of the main accused in the Sandalwood drugs case, failed to appear before the Bangalore Central Crime Branch (CCB) yesterday (16th October). The Bangalore CCB had on 15th October raided Vivek’s flat in Bombay on a tip-off that brother-in-law Aditya Alva was hiding there.
Meanwhile, a Congress delegation led by Sachin Sawant met Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh yesterday (16th) to demand an enquiry by the Bombay police into Vivek Oberoi’s role in the drug scam. The delegation said that if the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) did not look into the allegations of a drug nexus that had left a trail till Vivek’s doorstep, the entire enquiry should be handed over to the Bombay police.
