When will cinemas in Maharashtra reopen?
– People in the trade are at their wits’ end because cinemas in Maharashtra are not reopening. The sooner they reopen, the better it would be for the business. But now, there’s no charm left in hazarding a guess about the likely date of reopening because the industry people have only been doing that since June this year!
Now that Bell Bottom has completed a week’s run in the cinemas, and Chehre has opened in theatres today, why are producers of other completed films not announcing their release dates?
– Producers had announced the release dates of their completed and also incomplete films earlier this year but the second Coronavirus wave poured water on their plans. Once bitten twice shy! Producers now want to be very sure before they once again announce the release plans of their films because the fear of the third wave is still hanging on our heads like the sword of Damocles. Also, producers are waiting for cinemas in Maharashtra to reopen. Producers of films with very big budgets are waiting for cinemas in all states or most of the states to get permission to operate at 100% capacity.
Is it true that R. Balki is making a film starring Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salman and Pooja Bhatt? Does this cast hold any excitement for distributors?
– Sometimes, a very unusual casting evokes the interest of distributors just like it can excite the public. Maybe, this film of R. Balki is such a film. Incidentally, it is a thriller.
