The Bombay cyber police on October 20 arrested writer-producer-actor Akshat Raj Saluja for his alleged involvement in the OTT scam which came to light after producer Maan Singh complained that he was duped of Rs. 48 lakh by a group of conmen who promised to sell the OTT rights of his two films and took Rs. 48 lakh from him by showing him fake letters of Panorama Studios and OTT platforms. Saluja had written Om The Battle Within, and web series Shiksha Mandal and Yaargii. He was also one of the producers of Dream Girl.
Akshat Raj Saluja is the third person to be arrested in the case. Rajat Kumar Morya and Sanjay Saha were arrested earlier. The cyber police is now on the lookout for Radhika.
The police claimed that Saluja was one of the beneficiaries of the Rs. 48 lakh extracted from Maan Singh. Saluja was booked for cheating, forgery and breach of trust under the Indian Penal Code as well as under the Information Technology Act. He was produced before the Borivli court on October 20. The court remanded him to police custody.
Vivek Oberoi and producer Gaurang Doshi were also cheated by the same gang.
