‘DURLABH PRASAD KI DUSRI SHADI’ REVIEW | 19 December, 2025

Eksha Entertainment’s Durlabh Prasad Ki Dusri Shadi (UA) is a comedy family drama.

Murli (Vyom) lives with his father, Durlabh Prasad (Sanjay Mishra), and maternal uncle, Manchu (Shrikant Verma). His mother is no more. Murli loves Mehak (Pallak Lalwani). However, Mehak’s father (Pravin Singh Sisodiya) is not keen to marry Mehak to Murli because there’s no woman in the family. That’s when Murli decides to get his father a new bride. Durlabh Prasad hooks up with Babita (Mahima Chaudhary), but new problems crop up. Who is Babita? What are the new problems? Are they resolved? Do Murli and Mehak get married? Do Durlabh Prasad and Babita unite in matrimony?

Prashant Singh’s story and screenplay are interesting up to a point, after which the drama becomes repetitive as well as predictable. Therefore, the proceedings lose their grip on the audience. Adesh K. Arjun’s dialogues are good only at places; they are otherwise ordinary.

Sanjay Mishra is fair as Durlabh Prasad. Vyom is alright as Murli. At times, he is unnecessarily over-enthusiastic. Mahima Chaudhary is earnest in the role of Babita. Pallak Lalwani is adequate as Mehak. Shrikant Verma lends decent support as Manchu. Ramit Thakur is okay as Kanhaiya. Pravin Singh Sisodiya (as Mehak’s father) is so-so. Navni Parihar (as Mehak’s mother) is natural. Abha Sharma lends ordinary support as Mehak’s grandmother. Vishaka Pandey (as Mehak’s friend, Titli), Satyamvada (as Geeta chachi), Aditi (as Manju bua), Manjusha (as Sandhya bua), Kirti Gupta (as Murli’s neighbour), Abhay (as young Durlabh), Adwitiya (as young Babita), Pravin (as Munna), and Dhirendra (as Tarre) do as desired.

Siddhant Raj Singh’s direction is average. While some scenes have been handled well, there are others which don’t appeal much. Anurag Saikia’s music is earthy and entertaining. Juno’s lyrics go well with the mood of the film. Song picturisations are functional. Arabinda Neog’s background music is average. Anil Singh’s camerawork is okay. Silky Kumari’s production designing is so-so. Sanjay Sankla’s editing is fairly sharp.

On the whole, Durlabh Prasad Ki Dusri Shadi is too ordinary to do anything worthwhile at the ticket-windows. It will actually go largely unnoticed.

Released on 19-12-’25 at Glamour (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru August Entertainment. Publicity & opening: very poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was weak everywhere.
