Veteran producer A. Krishnamurthi breathed his last today (3rd April) in Bombay. He was 97 years old. Among the films produced by him are Sindoor, Ghar Ek Mandir, Swarag Se Sunder, Charanon Ki Saugandh, Aag, Meherbaan and Himmatwala (1998).
A. Krishnamurthi started out as a production manager but graduated to becoming an independent producer by sheer dint of hard work. He was so tall that he was fondly called Lambu Krishnamurthi. In fact, he had to bend down while entering several offices.
A. Krishnamurthi also acted in Tamil films like Yarukku Therium and Azhagarsamiyin Kudhirai.
