Film and stage actor Vijay Mohan Crishna breathed his last on 4th March, four days before his 81st birthday. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Among the films he acted in are Rajkumar Hirani’s PK (2014), Richard Attenborough’s Gandhi (which was his first film; 1982) and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish (2010) and Devdas (2002). In the last-named film, he played the stern, heartbreaking father of Shah Rukh Khan. He had also acted in Ritesh Menon’s 2014 film adaptation of Mahesh Dattani’s stage-play Dance Like A Man. He played Jairaj, a Bharatanatyam dancer past his prime, in the stage drama for over 25 years.
