APARNA SEN DECRIES BENGAL CM’S ACTION, CENTRE’S HINDUTVA NATIONALISM | 8 June, 2019

Filmmaker Aparna Sen on 4th June said in an interview to a private television channel that Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee could be digging her own grave with her “kneejerk” reaction to BJP’s ‘Jai Shri Ram’ campaign. Mamata Banerjee had gotten out of the car and tried to stop the members of the public participating in the campaign recently and had used abusive language.

Aparna Sen also decried prime minister Narendra Modi’s idea of equating nationalism with Hinduism. She said, rather than Veer Savarkar’s brand of nationalism, she preferred Gandhi’s pluralism.
