The Virar (Thane district) police on 13th August reconstructed the sequence of events that led to the killing of art director Krishnendu Chowdhury on 7th August at the hands of his vendor, Furqan Shaikh. The knife which Furqan allegedly used for the murder was found in a godown in his workshop at Madh Island. He had hidden it there after committing the murder. The police also seized Furqan Shaikh’s car which he used to allegedly carry Krishnendu Chowdhury’s body to Virar to dispose of. He had parked his car in the godown of his workshop.
Krishnendu had been killed by Furqan, probably in a fit of rage, on 7th August when the former went to his Madh workshop to demand Rs. 85,000 which the latter owed him.
Meanwhile, Furqan was produced in court on 12th and was remanded to police custody till 22nd August.
