Actress Arzoo Govitrikar’s estranged husband, Siddharth Sabharwal, has approached the Bombay high court, seeking directions to quash a metropolitan magistrate court’s order which restrains him from entering their house. Arzoo had got the restraining order from the magistrate court when she complained and accused him of beating her up in an inebriated state in a case of domestic violence. The magistrate had on 8th May passed an ex parte order without hearing Sabharwal.
Siddharth claims that he has nowhere to go as all his residential properties have been given on lease. He has sought permission to return to their home as he has had to stay in homes of his relatives and friends despite the fact that he owns the matrimonial home. He added that he was ready to pay rent for an alternate accommodation for his wife. He denied that he beat up his wife and alleged that she had cooked up the entire story to create a situation wherein she not only unilaterally enjoyed the said matrimonial home but also where he was coerced into funding a luxurious lifestyle which she did not previously enjoy.
Sabharwal’s petition has been kept for Arzoo’s reply.
