The court of chief judicial magistrate (district) in Jodhpur on 17th June acquitted Salman Khan of all charges of subÂmitting false affidavits in a case related to the blackbuck case. It rejected the applications of the prosecution challenging these affidavits.
Salman had moved an affidavit in the court in 2006 in relation to a case against him under the Arms Act, stating that he had lost his arms licence. The prosecution claimed that it was a false affidavit as SalÂman had not lost his licence but had submÂitted it for renewal. Khan’s counsel told the court that the case had already been decided and he had been acquitted so there was no point in continuing. In another affidavit, Khan had sought exemption from appearing in court, citing ear pain and medical advice against air travel. The prosecution argued that Salman had misÂled the court as he was busy shooting in Jammu & Kashmir.
