Srijit Mukherji’s Bengali-Hindi bilingual, Gumnaami, will release on Oct. 2. The film is based on the story of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose whose death is still shrouded in mystery. Whether Bose died in a plane crash in Taiwan on 18th August, 1945 or lived in disguise after that is not known. Gumnaami Baba (played by Prosenjit Chatterjee in the bilingual) led a discreet life in various parts of Uttar Pradesh from late 1950s to 1985. After his death, various documents, photographs and belongings found from his room linked him to political and historical happenings and to Subhash Chandra Bose.
