An integrated film and television media hub will be set up on 150 acres of land owned by All India Radio (Prasar Bharati) at Malad in Bombay. The total area of Prasar Bharati’s land is 278 acres.
Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on June 3 approved a proposal to set up a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) jointly by the state government and Prasar Bharati for the purpose. An MoU was signed between Prasar Bharati, MIDC and Maharashtra Film, Theatre and Cultural Development Corporation for the media hub.
The hub will include state-of-the-art film studios, sound stages, hospitality, IT- and ITES-related facilities, tourism development projects, and film and music training centres of international standard.
