FWICE FIXES SEPTEMBER 12 AS DATE FOR CINTAA ELECTIONS FOLLOWING MASS RESIGNATION OF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE | 17 August, 2026

Following the recent resignation of eight members from the executive committee of the Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) over allegations of misuse of power by president Poonam Dhillon and senior vice president Padmini Kolhapure and following loss of confidence in the current leadership, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has fixed September 12 as the date for fresh elections of the Association for 2026-29. The resigning members had demanded fresh elections. Those who resigned are Deepak Parashar, Mukesh Rishi, Hemant Pandey, Sahila Chaddha, Hetal Parmar, Puneet Issar, Vindu Dara Singh and Vikas Verma. Three other members resigned from the Association.

On her part, Poonam Dhillon dismissed the allegations against her and Kolhapure as “deeply offensive”.

Coming back to the impending elections, nomination forms will be distributed from August 27 onwards. The final nomination list will be announced on September 8 at 5 p.m.

After the elections are held on September 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the vote counting will start at 6 p.m. the same day.

The elections will be held at the Bhaktivedanta Swami Mission School, Shastri Nagar, Lokhandwala Complex, Andheri West, Bombay-53.

The total number of members to be elected to the executive committee is 15.
