The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has decided to disburse monthly ration of food to daily-wage workers of the film industry, beginning this weekend. There are around 25,000 daily-wage earners in Bollywood. The FWICE has about five lakh technicians and workers affiliated to it.
The FWICE and the IMPPA are contemplating distributing items like dal, rice, sugar, salt, flour and masala to the daily-wage cine workers who are badly hit by the call to cancel all shootings as a measure to observe social distancing to fight the coronavirus.
